The International Photo Fair was created in 1964 by Jean and André Fage. It is organizing its sixtieth edition in 2024!
Still organized by the Photoclub Paris-Val-de-Bièvre with the support of the Municipality of Bièvres, it has become, over time, the meeting place for collectors and photography enthusiasts. The Fair is renowned for its essential market of used and antique photography equipment, where exhibitors offer a varied and quality range of materials.
The market for new equipment and services hosts major brands such as Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Sony, as well as specialists in printing, film sellers, analog products, and a bookstore.
Nearly 250 exhibitors are expected.
A Major Exhibition
For its sixtieth anniversary, the Fair hosts the Finnish photographer Pentti Sammallahti for an exceptional retrospective with 65 prints. In his work, this photographer blends poetry, humanity, and humor. He has always been attentive to photography as a tangible object, and the printing process is truly part of the artwork.
Revitalizing the Artists’ Market
For the first time this year, the artists’ market will be open from Saturday. Exhibitors can register on Saturday and Sunday or only on Sunday. For many photographers, this represents an opportunity to be noticed by the jury of the artists’ market, chaired for this edition by Alain Escourbiac. This well-known printer for photographers has composed a high-quality jury, as is customary at the Fair, with several professionals from the world of photography.
This jury will visit each stand at the Fair and will award several generously endowed prizes on Sunday afternoon after deliberation.
Special Features of the Fair for this Anniversary
Specific activities will also be offered: a vintage trail of cameras or photographs from the 1960s at the market for used and antique photography equipment, a raffle will allow participants to win 60 prints made by the photographers of the Photoclub, an exhibition will trace the history of the Fair since 1964.
And Also
A photo contest, conferences, portfolio reviews, exhibitions, and a pop-up studio are organized throughout the weekend.
