Tezz, Stefan Rappo’s latest book, explores the profound bond between the photographer and his model, Tezz.
Through Rappo’s distinctive narrative style, the book integrates Tezz’s own intimate reflections with raw, emotional images, immersing the viewer in her unique perspective. The project took place over two years, from 2021 to 2023, across captivating landscapes in Ibiza, Tenerife, South Africa, and Normandy, which frame Tezz’s untamed beauty. Rappo and Tezz describe this work as their most intimate project to date, a tribute to unfiltered freedom.
Interview with Tezz by Stefan Rappo
For the book, we had photo sessions in Ibiza, Tenerife, South Africa, and Normandy. Which place impressed or inspired you the most, and what memory do you keep from it?
“Each place we visited left a mark on my heart, and I would certainly return. South Africa was the most awe-inspiring; it was the farthest I’d ever traveled, and its wild nature deeply moved me. Yet, my love and home, Ibiza, remains my greatest inspiration, having lived there for years. Each location played a vital role in my personal development. I believe that people, places, and experiences help us grow, each playing a special part in our journey.”
What does this project represent for you?
“This project is intimate and a dream come true. Not only does it mark the peak of my career as a model and artistic creator, but it holds deep personal meaning for three reasons: first, the person and photographer I have the honor to work with, Stefan; second, the chance to share a part of myself and who I am; and third, the book embodies our connection and artistic vision. It reflects the journey we’ve shared, capturing our friendship and creative alignment.”
Who or what inspires you in life?
“Life itself, the people within it, their experiences, moments, perspectives, cultures, art books, films, nature, emotions, and my own processes.”
What do you enjoy expressing as a model?
“It always varies, depending on what I’m experiencing or feeling and who I’m creating with. I’m intuitive, but my work often reflects a desire for freedom, wildness, transparency, and a passion for expression.”
You wrote quotes for the book. Can you tell us more about them?
“My quotes capture my feelings, realizations, and thoughts. Writing has always been a part of me since childhood. It’s a daily support for navigating life and a way to share and be heard. Including them in the book makes it even more personal, inviting viewers to connect more deeply with the visual experience.”

What does photography mean to you?
“Photography is both my profession and deepest passion. I appreciate that it’s not just about the final result but also about encounters and creating with fascinating people.”
Who or what has shaped your growth as a photographer?
“I believe much of what we are is already within us, as seen in the diversity of personalities within a single family. But life experiences, the people we meet, and the challenges we face also shape who we are. I was fortunate to work as an assistant for various photographers, including nearly eight years with Peter Lindbergh. This experience certainly influenced my photography and worldview, but most importantly, it helped me grow as a person. For me, the key is to keep evolving, stay curious, and constantly question our work and choices. That’s what makes photography so compelling to me—an endless story.”
What words would you use to describe this project?
“Adventure, nature, freedom, intimacy.”
What connects you with Tezz and motivated you to create a project like this?
“I first met Tezz in Ibiza in 2021 after a disappointing six days of shooting on the island. Our encounter changed everything. We did a session at Atlantis early in the morning on my last day, and everything was magical: the weather, the location, the atmosphere. The shoot was incredible, and we got beautiful images. Plus, we immediately hit it off, sharing the same vision for photography and life. After this experience, we organized a workshop in Tenerife, and the magic happened again. We both felt a strong potential, so we decided to make this project a reality. We then chose South Africa as our next destination, a place I knew well from previous visits. To wrap up our project, we went to a beach in Normandy and captured images around a campfire, where the magic was once again present.”
Do you have a favorite saying or motto that guides you in life, work, or creativity? Do you have other projects in mind after this?
“The phrases ‘The journey is the goal’ and ‘Do what makes you happy’ resonate with me deeply. As for future projects, I’m very focused on this one for now, but I hope to continue exploring nude photography through other books. I’d also like to return to cinematic storytelling, a style I explored heavily about a decade ago.”
