Photographic artist Nicolas Laborie celebrates the launch of his limited edition photo book with an exhibition at London’s Muse Gallery.
Sentiments Déshabillés is a poetic dialogue between botanicals and nudes. Nicolas Laborie responds to our fast paced world by stripping his practice back to basics and applying the same slow process as the photographic pioneers of the early 19th Century.
Cultures across the world have long recognised the secret language of flowers, a tradition particularly popular in Victorian Britain and the artist’s native France. Laborie captures the timeless beauty of botanicals and presents them side by side with sensual nudes.
Combining wet plate collodion photography with Haiku-inspired poetry and words, Sentiments Déshabillés is an invitation to meditate on what makes us human.
