The Perfect Exposure Gallery and überEDITIONS are pleased to announce Rock Photography Museum, the first in a planned series of exhibitions featuring images from the world of music photography, both infamous and obscure.
The show will feature the work of no fewer than 13 photographers and cover a wide range of genres including rock and roll, funk, R&B, jazz, country, and more.
Rarely-exhibited photos of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, the Mamas and the Papas, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, the Velvet Underground, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, John Coltrane, Nina Simone and more will be on view through December at the gallery, located just minutes from downtown L.A.
The collection will include work from four notable new coffee table books released by major publishers.
In addition to the photographs, the show will feature a special display of “lost and found” original 1960s transparencies of the Rolling Stones, recently returned to L.A.-based photographer Alec Byrne by collector Linda Switzer after nearly 50 years, a story reported last month by the Daily Mail.
