Photography Exhibition Re-Emerging Venezia

Three international artists, two environmental scientists and the Institute for Research on the Lagoon System (CORILA) bring to life the voices and memories of the lockdown in Venice, Italy.

Sophie Fauchier, Gaby Wagner and Val Masferrer-Oliveira represent the artistic contribution to Re-Emerging through a collection of photographic works. The project is a think tank on the post-pandemic period in Venice and the lagoon.

Giovanna Poggi Marchesi, the project’s creator, emphasizes the multidisciplinary nature of Re-Emerging, which “aims to explore the links between people’s isolation during the closure and the observation of nature. The latter underwent significant changes after the sudden decrease in human pressure, and the project therefore aims to highlight aspects of adaptation and resilience emerging from extraordinary circumstances.”
