Galerie Miranda presents a solo exhibition of the American artist Terri Weifenbach (born in the United States in 1957), her first in France.
The exhibition offers a selection of works from the artist’s three series:
Birds (2019): Taken in the garden of his house in Washington DC, these images capture the secret life of different species of birds that inhabit our cities: sparrows, chickadees and finches. In this intimate space, the seasons succeed one another, the colors of the vegetation decline;
Centers of Gravity (2017) captures the choreography and gestures of moving birds in black and white;
The Politics of Flowers (2005): Weifenbach reproduces in B&W pages of small books of dried flowers “Pressed Flowers from the Holy Land”, published between 1896 and 1906 in Palestine by Reverend Harvey B. Greene.
The making of books being at the heart of her practice, a selection of her rare books is also exposed on the gallery’s walls.
