Time is running out to enter Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year, the world’s leading celebration of food photography and film, with submissions closing on Sunday 4 February 2024. The competition, now in its 13th year, invites amateur and professional photographers alike to showcase their creativity, vision, and storytelling abilities through the lens of food, with a top prize of £5,000 (GBP) to be won.
The Awards celebrates photography and film capturing food stories from around the world; its 20-plus categories range from politics to portraiture, field to table, sale to celebration, street to stylist. Two new categories join the selection this year: the Tiptree Cake Award for captures of cake and The James Beard Foundation Award for images that celebrate the people behind America’s food culture.
In a first for the competition, the Student category, which is supported by The Royal Photographic Society, is free to enter. This category is for students (full or part-time) currently attending a photography course at a recognised college or university. In further exciting developments, the Awards will be returning to the Mall Galleries, London to host its Champagne Taittinger Awards Evening and its Finalists exhibition.
This year’s global judging panel, chaired by legendary food photographer, David Loftus, includes: Raymond Blanc, Chef Patron, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Asma Khan, Presenter, Chef’s Table, Cookbook Author and Founder, Darjeeling Express, Clare Reichenbach, Chief Executive Officer, The James Beard Foundation, Tom Athron, CEO, Fortnum & Mason, Rein Skullerud, Senior Photographer and Photo Editor, United Nations World Food Programme.
