On the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture, the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) is launching a photographic commission entitled Reinventing Photography.
Continuing the tradition of major government commissions in the field of photography, the aim of this project is to recognize and encourage the vitality of contemporary creation in the broad field of photography.

The Réinventer la photographie call for submissions aims to select 15 photographers or artist-authors. Each of them will receive a grant of
of 10,000 Euros to carry out their project. This sum will include remuneration and payment of copyright. A commissioning contract will be drawn up by Cnap.
The production budget will be capped at 12,000 Euros (incl. VAT).
Photographers and artists will be assisted in the production of their work by the head of the CNAP photography collection.
This commission will be promoted through exhibitions and a publication.
Works produced as part of this national photographic commission will join the CNAP collection.
The winners will have until January 31, 2026 (deadline) to submit their commission.
The terms and conditions (realization/production/exploitation) of the winner’s project are defined with him/her in a commissioning contract drawn up by the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap).
Candidates must submit their applications on the Cnap platform (from October 1, 2024 (12pm) to November 12, 2024 (12pm) – deadline).
Applications must be submitted exclusively on the Cnap platform.
Applications may not be submitted by e-mail, post or in person at Cnap. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The address of the platform will be available on the Cnap website www.cnap.fr from October 1, 2024.
