On the occasion of the Besançon Photography Festival, Grain d’Pixel is launching a call for entries for the Victor Hugo Prize for committed photography and the Grain d’Pixel Prize.
About fifty amateur, student and professional photographers will be selected and given carte blanche to present their work. Each of them will submit a photograph from their exhibition to the Grain d’Pixel Prize and the winner will receive a prize of 800 €.
On the occasion of the seventh edition of the Festival and the 10th anniversary of the opening to the public of the birthplace of Victor Hugo, Grain d’Pixel and the House of Victor Hugo in Besançon create the Victor Hugo Prize for committed photography. Endowed with 1000€, it will be the subject of an exhibition in the birthplace of Victor Hugo on one of the themes that were dear to him:
Defense of human rights
Defense of the freedom of expression
Defense of children’s rights
Defense of women’s rights
Fight against the death penalty
Fight against poverty
Fight against oppression
The exhibition will be composed of 15 to 20 photographs printed on dibond and presented as part of the Besançon Photography Festival in the birthplace of Victor Hugo from October 7 to December 31, 2023.
Dates to remember
Applications for the festival and the Victor Hugo prize will be available from May 1 to 15, 2023 on the website https://grain-dpixel.fr/info/
The festival will take place from October 7 to 29 in different places of Besançon Metropole including the Kursaal, the Maisons Comtoises museum and the birthplace of Victor Hugo.
