The Biennale dell’immagine will open on 5 October at the Spazio Officina in Chiasso. It’s promoted by the ABi Association and constitutes an event of international scope which aims to promote the culture of contemporary photography, art and media as tools through which to interpret reality. An event which, with its vast range of exhibitions, encounters and screenings, and thanks to the presence of artists of great prestige, will involve a wide-ranging public.
The eleventh edition of the Biennale is therefore titled CRASH, and will explore the vision of photographers and artists who draw on contrast as the key to their interpretation of the complexity of life. CRASH tells of a world of contradictions, of complex movements, ones transformed into moments of impact. CRASH means having to start all over again in order to rediscover hope, desire, liberation and rebirth.
Main shows: Boris Mikhailov and his temptations; the Swiss photographer (and police officer) Arnold Odermatt; l’Ecole cantonale d’art of Lausanne and its gaze on the concept of utopia.
