Photography Workshop ADAGP / Atelier Gens d’Images – Ann Massal on AI and Photography

In early 2024, the French artist and photographer Ann Massal took up a residency at the MEP – Maison Européenne de la Photographie. She devised a series of questions about 25 photographs from the MEP Collection, which she put to an AI. The topics covered are wide-ranging – the photographic medium, the art market, but also more philosophical questions and touches of humour. The result of these interviews was published in French and English by JBE Books at the end of 2024. It sheds an original light on the world of photography, totally anchored in the 21st century.
In this workshop, we will discuss his practice and what this experience has taught him.

The workshop will be moderated by Aurélie Lacouchie, a member of the Gens d’images Steering Committee, and will be followed by a friendly drink for those who wish to join us.
