Photography Award Open Call: Aftershoot and the Create Together Fund

Aftershoot is launching Cohort 2 with its Create Together Fund to support photography communities in 2025, a $1 million grant programme that aims to fund 750 photography-related events around the world.

With a commitment of $1 million, the Fund aims to support 750 photography-related events by the end of the year, enabling photographers around the world to create local communities where they can share knowledge, socialise and inspire each other, strengthening collaboration and creativity in this market.

In 2024, through Cohort 1 of the Create Together Fund, Aftershoot supported 27 community leaders in organising photography-related events around the world, bringing together over 600 photographers in 15 cities across 4 countries. From intimate photo walks to large-scale workshops, these events have enabled photographers to learn, socialise and collaborate in real life.

Now, with Cohort 2, Aftershoot is broadening its commitment and aims to support events in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. Aftershoot’s Create Together Fund offers grants of $1,000 or $2,000, depending on the size and scope of the event, and $5,000 for larger events, based on the proposal. The Fund supports photographers who wish to create and develop local creative communities through photographic walks, meetings, training sessions, etc.

Who can apply?
The Aftershoot Create Together Fund is open to :
– Professional photographers
– Photography trainers
– Emerging community leaders

What events are eligible?
The Fund supports offline photography-related events of all types, including: Workshops, Meetings, Photo Walks, Stylized Photo Shoots.
Funding levels are as follows: $1,000 for events hosting between 15 and 25 people, $2,000 for events hosting between 25 and 50 people, and $5,000 for larger events, depending on the proposal.

Applications for Cohort 2 are open until 28 February 2025.
