Born in 1972, Elvire Bourgeois lives and works in Paris: “From the
reminiscences of an “ghost image”, memory of a distant journey (Wind
Place of Jaipur – India, 1993) and of “seeing without being seen” came
the idea of this series.
This discreet and confidential confessional provides an image clouded
in darkness, a slim light infusing the portrait with intimacy. The separation between subject and photographer is blurred, a
superimposition with the spectator as witness.This back and forth sends the eye beyond the frame, revealing the fragility of a fleeting encounter.
