Editorial RM releases the 3rd edition of Small Things In Silence by Masao Yamamoto.
Small Things in Silence presents the work of Masao Yamamoto, who brings Japanese traditions into the modern world. Small Things in Silence offers a perspective on twenty years of the Japanese photographer’s career. In the words of Yamamoto himself: ‘I try to capture moments that nobody sees and make a photograph of them. When I see them in print, a new story begins’. Born in 1957 in Gamagori, in the Japanese prefecture of Aichi, photographer Masao Yamamoto began by studying oil painting. Later, Masao discovered that photography was the ideal medium for the theme that interested him most: images with the ability to evoke memories.
Small Things in Silence includes images from each of Yamamoto’s major projects – Box of Ku, Nakazora, Kawa and Shizuka – as well as images from some of his original photographic installations. Masao Yamamoto (1957, Japan) is known for his small photographs, which seek to individualise photographic prints as objects.
