Pierre Antoine’s work revolves around the rather simple idea that the world has something to teach him, and that this is conveyed through images. Thus, the photographic collection in this book was assembled to reflect a desire to penetrate the depths of the world, its materiality, through the signs and phenomena it produces. By considering the studio as a laboratory and photographic snapshots as a means of capture, the resulting experimentation gives rise, throughout the book, to a certain form of strangeness in beings and things.
