H/AND is a story of hands, a story of encounters. The outstretched hand, touching and touched, at the center of all communications. It is arguably one of the oldest symbols used by mankind.
H/AND is a gallery of portraits made to the rhythm of exceptional encounters.
Intimate portraits, images, imprints where everyone stages their own hands under the lights, often for the first time, and thus take the time and distance to discover themselves in this strange mirror.
Anne de Vandière is a photographer whose humanist and intimate work revolves around recurring themes, in particular that of the hand, which she intensifies with each project. Her sensitive and powerful universe is expressed in a subtle and deep black and white analog photography.
She has exhibited for more than 10 years in many places in France and abroad, and in 2009 received the Fondation Neuflize Vie ABN Amro prize for contemporary photography.
After the success of Tribus du monde in 2016, HAND is the second book by Anne de Vandière published by Éditions Intervalles.
