Dominique Ott – Solitudes

Preview

Loneliness often refers to a sense of despair.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s more related to a sort of freedom that overwhelms me when I’m confronted to it.

Faced to the immensity of nature, an element of the landscape sometimes catches my attention, I can identify myself with it.

A fleeting puddle of light or an immutable concrete block, I freeze it on the midline of my photography.

However, this central element, isolated in the foreground by this unusual framing protocol, is in reality only incidental:

It’s the infinite that surrounds it that best defines my Solitudes.
