As part of Pierret Jamet’s ‘Y’a d’la joie‘ (There is joy) exhibition, the Parisian-based VOZ’Galerie invites Françoise Denoyelle to talk about humanist photography. As a professor and art historian, curator and president of the Association for the Promotion of Photographic Funds, Françoise Denoyelle will discuss the role of humanist photography in French 1950s . Seeing the city as a human landscape, freezing lifestyles in their “poetic realism“, humanist photography visually contributed to social, cultural and political post-war renaissance in the country.
