Alexandre Slussarev started taking photos in 1959 and quickly became a member of the USSR Youth Organisation Committee’s photographic section. In 1962 and 1964, he participated in the “ Our Youth exhibitions”. In 1979, he had his first personal exhibition in Riga, as part of the Baltic photo festival, before presenting many exhibitions in the USSR. He exhibited at the Moscow House of Photography and the Moscow Photo Biennial. His photographs are in the collections of the MoMA (New York) and the New Mexico Museum of Art (Santa Fe), among other institutions.
