Dimitri Wauters: –Anitya (Impermanence)

Preview

In Sanskrit, Anitya refers to the concept of impermanence. my series invites the viewer to reflect on this basic concept of Indian and Tibetan philosophical traditions dealing with death, suffering, loss, and the process of transformation that gives life to each of us. It is an attempt to represent the concept of impermanence through loss and transformation, and an attempt to relate this concept in photography and images.

An amateur photographer, I studied photography in my hometown of Brussels, where I still live. Anitya is my first photography series. I’m currently working on a personal documentary project on what Cartier-Bresson called ‘fleeting reality’ about the constantly evolving space in which we live.
