Combining a 19th century scientific concept with 21st century technique, Cape Cod artist Amy Heller brings her unique brand of manipulated photography to January’s Dek Unu Magazine. Her series, Time/Motion Study Multiples, builds on work by late 1800s experimenters Edweard Muybridge and Étienne-Jules Marey, who used multiple and long exposure photography to study time and motion. Heller uses similar stroboscopic photography as the basis for something entirely new.
