DAY 6 – Morning Meetings and the end of the Fair
I woke up early to head out to Miami Beach. I had a meeting at The National Hotel, and as I mentioned earlier, meetings during these fairs are always very early or very late. [1] I had a few cups of coffee I bounced over next door, for the Sagamore Art Hotel brunch. The Sagamore is an exquisite hotel [2] and the brunch was in celebration of the new art displays, curated by John Hanhardt of the Smithsonian. [3],[4]. It was a fantastic way to start the day, and I headed over to the Miami Project Fair for the last day with a skip in my step.
This year’s Basel was terribly fun, and I can’t wait for next year. But I am very much looking forward to taking some much needed time off over the next few days. In closing, if all the fairs were kids at school, Miami Project would be the valedictorian with good fashion sense: refined and tasteful, with a bright future ahead. The booths were spacious and well-built. All the galleries exhibiting were of high quality, and the entire fair was very well curated. I commend Max Fishko and Jeffrey Waterhouse for putting on a fantastic fair. And gentlemen: I want the same booth next year. Until then, fair readers…
