Once a year, Dan Hayon sends us a rather unusual choice of images.
We have just received this one accompanied by these few lines! JJN
The story of this series is as follows: one day, when I went to the Louvre to draw, I suddenly noticed the expression of a character in a painting and I had the same feeling of sadness, and horror, which I had felt while watching the news on TV, or listening to the radio. I photographed this detail, and then I took others.
“State of mind while watching the news on TV” is a project that is growing a little more every day, because there is unfortunately a lot of material.
It’s a sad series, but what’s happening in the world today, the reality, is even sadder and more revolting.
The images in this series are details of paintings, sculptures, comics, (except one, my eye, a sort of introduction to this series).
They say that “the devil is in the details”.
But today the Devil no longer hides only in the details. It is everywhere in plain light, in each of us…
