Fausto Giaconne is from Tuscany where he was born three quarters of a century ago. But at the end of the war, his family moved to Sicily where he spent all his youth. For the rest, he has traveled the world in all directions to freeze images that are already and will be exceptional testimonies before … globalization.
What is most undeniable about Fausto, besides his professional work, is his creative ability to transform a future archive into a real dialogue between the actors of his photographic observation and the future readers of his images. This invisible link between the photographed subject and the photographer which is passed on to readers of future generations.
By their composition, sometimes as provocative as they are innovative, by the style of the atmosphere managed by the importance of the contrasts, by the anticipation of the decisive click, the photographs convey a message without ambiguity and without words. There is life in each photograph and paradoxically more so when the atmospheres are heavy, even suffocating. Nothing extraordinary, Fausto Giaconne photographer of great talent remains mostly a Sicilian, everything is transmitted without saying anything useless. Words become useless when confronted to the shock of his photographs
