As we begin to commemorate the centenary of the Great War, I present my series Oscars. Inspired by postcards sent by my great great uncle, a soldier in WWI, I followed in his footsteps. The resulting project brings together photographs taken last year of the battlegrounds where he fought, reproductions of his archives and topographical maps of the trenches.
