After a preview this summer at Arles and at Paris Photo at the Grand Palais in November 2019, the HEGOA gallery is hosting Hemeria editions for the presentation of Clarisse Rebotier’s “2054” portfolio and is offering a “Pop Up” exhibition of the entire eponymous series.
“Clarisse Rebotier, an extraordinary artist signs an allegory at the end of the Anthropocene and alerts us with tenderness and derision about our own finitude. This incredible series was staged using the taxidermy technique acquired by the artist in collaboration with the taxidermist from the National Museum of Natural History.
Clarisse is an artist in her own right, far from the beaten tracks, whose will is affirmed to encourage us to see the world differently, through creative processes where humor and discrepancy are king.
A tragedy ? A comedy ? Facing us, the tragicomic emerges from the staging like metatheater which holds out a mirror to us… ”
