Last year, crowds braved the cold and therain to attend the opening night of the Circulation(s) festival to discover the work of young European photographers. With 24,000 visitors, the festival was a resounding success.
The Second edition of Circulation(s) opens tomorrow at the Galerie Côté Seine and the Trianon du Parc de Bagatelle in Paris. Today La Lettre de la Photographie dedicate itself entirely to the coverage of this young festival. We spoke with the head of this year’s festival, Christine Ollier, artistic director of the Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire. The position was held last year by Laura Sérani. We will present the portfolios of four photographers selected by Ollier as part of her Carte Blanche: David de Beyter, Matt Wilson, Michel Bousquet and Yusuf Sevincli. Then we’ll speak to Marion Hislen, festival founder and president of association Fetart, who will explain how this unusual and passionate group, composed exclusively of women, became an important discoverer of talent.
This year’s program will present the work of 26 young European photographers, selected by a jury of photography professionals. We will share five of their portfolios: Vincent Catala, Gilles Roudière, Geir Moseid, Eugenia Maximova et Désirée Good.
