Walking these absolutely deserted roads in this beautiful region usually quite empty (except in summer) is wonderful! Especially in rainy weather …
I felt absolutely not “guilty”, alone in my car, who was I going to endanger ??
However, I still had the slight thrill of crossing a prohibition and falling on a brigade of zealous “gendarmes” …
Besides, these poor “gendarmes” preferred to stay warm rather than hanging out on these pretty little winding and soggy roads, where in a day I sometimes didn’t see any car !!
