In connection with the exhibition ’The longer I look’ by Christian Vogt, we present every day this week selections of different works by the photographer.
Exhibition: „The longer I look“ – Recent Research
„Vogt’s photography is neither beautiful nor ugly because that which is photographed is neither beautiful nor ugly. It is the poetic transposition of a possible reality behind things visible in the foreground…. It rises through the artist, who creates it with all his fantasies and obsessions and it needs the viewer who experiences it and builds his own world into it. “– Ulrike Jehle-Schulte Strathaus
What interests me:
– that which is mutually dependent.
Some of the works here deal with the ‘skin’ – perhaps the most intimate of surfaces.
It is that which separates inside from outside.
The texts for the Skinprints* often find their form only over extended periods of time
– they are insights and observations. – Christian Vogt
*Series: Skinprints – since 2008
