The Eye of Photography has decided to devote a whole day for this special issue devoted to one of the most famous primitive photographers of the first decades of Photography.
Charles Nègre, a true genius and an indisputable precursor who, despite his natural discretion, has a place of honor in the Pantheon of Photography.
We are particularly grateful to Dominique Nègre (great great nephew), Alain Sabatier and Michel Cresp, three of the artist’s best current champions. This triumvirate of specialists is the bearer of the memory and work of Charles Nègre. They agreed to participate very actively in this exceptional edition. We sincerely thank them for their trust, for their involvement and for their work intended for you.
