Canon launches the 3rd edition of its photography competition ‘Redline Challenge’.
This year, the competition invites amateur photographers to take and submit a photo that expresses the theme ‘ Space to breathe’ in a minimalist way. By adopting a “Do less to express more” type approach, participants are encouraged to tap into their creativity in order to approach the subject of their choice with a vision focused on the essentials.
This annual competition is open to amateur photographers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa1. Whether they choose to render a landscape evoking endless space, to explore games of lines and shapes in a creative way or even to express a moment of solitude, participants will be free to approach any form of theme and of gender. The winner will be rewarded with a Canon kit consisting of an EOS R5 and the very versatile RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM standard zoom.
Photographs submitted for this Canon Redline Challenge competition may have been taken with any camera. The images will be judged on the basis of their composition, their creativity, the technical mastery to achieve them, and their consistency with this year’s theme. The main winner will be announced next October.
Last year, the Redline Challenge 2022 competition whose theme was “The story of a moment” brought together more than 14,000 participants. The winner, Jiří Durdík, a self-taught Czech photographer, was awarded for his spectacular photo of a motocross race, taken with a blur that gives an impression of movement.
Entries are open from August 19, 2023 and will close on September 16, 2023.
