Honoring the artistry and advocacy of Sebastian Copeland, this exhibition brings together his work as a celebrated photographer, polar explorer, and environmentalist. His newest book, The Arctic: A Darker Shade of White (Rizzoli 2024), reflects his dedication to these landscapes and serves as the foundation for the exhibit. On display are twenty of Copeland’s most recent works from his Arctic expeditions, featuring both iconic pieces and previously unseen creations. The majority of the works were created in the past three years. These are not solely landscapes; they also provide a deeper context for the environment by capturing the lives of the Inuit people. Each photograph reflects the unique and fragile beauty of these remote regions, as well as the urgent environmental challenges they face.
