Hans Feurer cherishes the female body and sets it iconically in scene. It all comes together in a very natural way, and the strength of his female subjects always remains visible. He creates iconic images of beautiful bodies and of notable strong women.
Feurer prefers to work with a long focal length, which makes his point of view quite narrow and the object much bigger, as can be seen in his iconic shots of derrières in colorful pants. In 1973, he portrayed model Marana shaded by palm tree leaves in the golden sun on the Seychelles for the famous Pirelli Calendar (1974), where his genius in working with natural light becomes visible once again.
In 1967, Hans Feurer was asked to take a picture resembling his favorite Beatles song for a book on the famous band. Feurer picked »Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds«, showing model Lilly Nielsen’s breasts as two mountains with the sun just rising in between, a landscape scene with a wink. The photographer remains one of a kind in setting parts of the human body beautifully in scene.
