In 2021, the French Ministry of Culture entrusted the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) with the management of the Large Order for Photojournalism. Entitled Radioscopy of France: views on a country going thru the health crisis, this order allowed the selection of 200 photographers in two calls for projects. The winning photographers received funding in the amount of 22,000 euros each, which enabled them to carry out their project. The unpublished photographs produced entered the collections of the BnF between autumn 2022 and spring 2023. This historic order, with a budget of nearly 5.46 million euros, is part of the of the government plan to support the press sector.
A website promoting the works of the Great Order for Photojournalism has been put online, allowing free consultation of the subjects of the reportages proposed by the photographers and viewing of the ten images which have been integrated into the BnF collections in the form of prints.

The BnF has also been publishing the order logbook online on its website since spring 2022. Conceived as an invitation to follow the order in the field, this collective story is fed by some sixty photographers. It retraces the production of their reportage and testifies to the diversity of the subjects and approaches of the authors. It was published over the months and the development of the various projects.
