From May 30 to June 11, the Florence Moll agency and its gallery will present AFTERSQUAT at 59 Rivoli in Paris for the exhibition Big Bang. Photographers and 3D artists are pushing the limits of creation with the help of digital technology, creating new images and explosive hybrids where each artist reveals his or her own imagination. The delicacy of texture, the transparency and brilliance of a captured moment, the fleeting charm of a glance or the sensuality of a gesture for photography, crazy new horizons straight out of brains without limits for 3D face and question each other.
Are we hard yet? Reminiscent of “Celebrity Death Match”, the photography duo Nick & Chloé go head-to-head in a fair fight with the Zeitguised featuring pin-ups.
Déliquescences The photographer Fabrice Fouillet unveils the decomposiiton of his biological structures which, virtually modified, react differently to heat and the ravages of time. Geoffrey H. Short in Towards another (Big Bang) Theory recreates the photographic landscape of the explosion, addressing questions of the sublime, and the terror that he explores by showing the undeniable visual beauty of explosions. With the collaboration of Emmanuelle, a 3D graphic designer from La souris sur le Gâteau.
The AFTERSQUAT started out as an artists’ association, KGB, then became Chez Robert, éléctron libre, in 1999 they moved into an abandoned building in the heart of Paris, turning it into a space for creation and cultural exchange. Threatened with expulsion in 2000, the press seized on the idea of “squart” (squat + art) and forced the authorities to reconsider. According to a report by the Ministère de la Culture, the squat Chez Robert Électron was the 3rd most popular center for contemporary art in Paris, counting 40,000 visitors in a year. The space was acquired and refurbished by City Hall and turned into a site for contemporary art with artist studios open to the public.
The artists’ association 59 Rivoli is a “cultural alternative in the heart of Paris,” a multidisciplinary and cosmopolitan space that offers exhibitions, openings, concerts and performances. Open six days a week.
