The Levallois 2017 Prize for young international photography has been been given to the Belgian photographer Bieke Depoorter. The prize is designed for photographers under 35 years of age. Bieke Depoorter wins the sum of 35 000 euros and will be exhibited at the gallery of l’Escale (Levallois) from 6 October to 27 November 2017.
In her series Mumkin/Who Knows , the artist has photographed contemporary Egypt and his daily life, from 2011 to today. At random with her meetings, spending the night with a family, a couple, a single woman, she shared the meal and the daily life of many Egyptians. His work proposes a conversation by the image and the text between these inhabitants and the foreign photographer.
Louis Matton and his work Autonomous Objects won the Special Mention of the Jury Award while Alexander Caballero Diaz won the Audience Award.
