The return of the poppy is already reassuring because it is evocative
of a less polluted nature, with less “roundup”, a rebirth of the
soils and therefore of life with a capital L.
But to love poppies, you have to be an idiot, you have to be an idiot … like
the friend Mouloudji sang, and I am certainly the most stupid of
poppyphile , poppy addicts.
Learned pavophile , I carried out all kinds of experiments with
my darlings, braving rain, wind and fog without hesitation.
If some eat or smoke it, I prefer to taste it
with the eyes this irresistible magnet and use my camera
to offer eternity to this ephemeral flower, hence my nickname of
Mr. Poppy.
Passionate about photography since my youngest age, in other words prehistory,
I have often come across our papaver by chance while researching something else,
from the Jura to the Massif Central, from Provence to Algeria and, wherever
these pretty red touches caught my eye.
Also passionate about Iceland, I spent several months there several times,
I also have a whole range of photographs that speak of this majestic country
Other photos of flowers will accompany the poppies.
The photos presented here are mounted on cotton canvas stretched on a
sturdy wooden frame with integrated hook. – Jacques Doukhan
