Journalist and author, Jean-Baptiste Gauvin worked for five years at Radio Classique where he was in charge of cultural news, then made reportages on the history of art for Arte (the Franco-German television channel). At the same time, he gradually specialized in the domain of images. He was co-founder and co-editor of the online magazine dedicated to news photography Blind alongside Coline Olsina. Since the fall of 2020, he has been carrying out independent activities in the field of photography, leading conferences, writing artist texts. He has written regularly for The Eye of Photography since 2017. In a more literary field, he has published the book Au bord with the photographer Benjamin Hoffman as well as several books with the MAGMA collective, in the company of the composer Nicolas Rouleau and the painter Félix Deschamps-Mak with whom he has produced several exhibitions, the most recent of which at the Théâtre National de La Criée in Marseille (Kopeck, November 2019 – January 2020). Aged 33, he lives and works in Paris.
