John Devos is a historian and an art historian fascinated by lens-based arts.
He taught a vast array of courses such as art history, history of moving images, photographic history, communication, research & media ethics at Narafi – LUCA School of Arts in Brussels with passion and conviction. Has handled a photo camera for 50 years, but does not consider himself a photographer. His own interest is mainly in the history & development of photographic practice in all its manifestations between 1800 and yesterday.
As a ‘fresh’ old age pensioner he is absolutely convinced that a wild garden is the most ecological approach, so he now enjoys his activity as an independent lecturer , critic & curator specialized in photography.
