Photography has an important place in Modern and Contemporary art, making it only natural that several galleries either partially or entirely dedicated to photography will be present in the Grand Palais for this 13th edition of ArtParis.
Acte2galerie will be presenting a solo-show featuring the great photographer Albert Watson. This Scottish artist is intriguing for the wide variety of soft filtered colors in his portraits and landscapes. He is also represented at the A.galerie, a new space devoted to photography and contemporary art founded by Arnaud Adida, also of the Acte2galerie. They will be presenting a selection of photographers including Lita Albuquerque, Nick Brandt, Jean de Pomereu, Peter Lindbergh, Teresa Aninat & Catalina Swinburn.
Recent portrait works by artist Kimiko Yoshida, recently displayed at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, will be featured at the Galerie Albert Benamou stand.
The Galerie Vu’ is offering a dialogue about such major themes as egotism with Jean-Christian Bourcart, decentralizing with José Ramon Bas and Laurence Leblanc, and politics with works by Manit Sriwanichpoom, and Alain Bizos, or war and consumerism by Denis Darzacq.
For its second year at ArtParis, Polka Galerie, is offering two personal exhibitions about “The Power of Photography in American Public Life” with stories by Ethan Levitas, Yves Marchand, and Romain Meffre, alongside pictures by Donata Wenders, and Prune Noury.
Founded in 2006 by Flore and Romain Degoul, the Galerie Paris-Beijing, devoted to international contemporary photography, offers a connection between Paris, a pioneer city for photography, and Beijing, who is today one of the major players on the artistic scene. The works of four photographers will be on display there including:
