The Galerie Robert Morat in Berlin is located next to the Pablo Neruda space to present the photographs, or rather the works of photographism, of the German designer Jessica Backhaus.
I found the work exhibited in the line of the great graphic creations for visual advertising of the 1960s interesting. The shapes are summed up in the design of volumetric areas which transpose each non-figurative image into a whole which takes shape and resonance in our imagination.
Jessica’s work offers us well-finished works, with well-controlled play of lights and transparencies, in her exploitations of color masses.
An exhibition not visible enough, its location in the city not well advertised, and unfortunately not really supported, within the framework of the various organizations of the rencontres, as it deserved.
Thank you to Galerie Robert Morat for coming to present this work to us in Arles.
