Arles 2020 day to day by Thierry Maindrault
The “Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d’Arles” had to give up for this year 2020 ,in front of the planetary progression of the Covid 19. The Manuel Rivera Ortiz Foundation has decided to maintain its exhibitions under the banner “The Pioneers”. More, it has undertaken to entrust to several regional creators some rooms upstairs in order to create temporary collective action workshops there, open to the public. This action of opening up to creation named “Act”.
Manuel RIVERA-ORTIZ maintains its commitments: “And our Foundation home has a history of sheltering people throughout the ages. It is in this history today that we welcome our artists-in-residence to shelter themselves and their incredible work from the storms that today plague us.
In this, I say to anyone reading this message something so simple but so incredibly real, we all have a part to play in our collective well-being. We, all of us together, because as it happens, that none of us is above the unfathomable ravages of death! “
In fact, the multi-disciplinary creators are installed individually, but they are working in a collective atmosphere on their various personal research in terms of fantasy. Every week of this summer, Thursday night, all the workshops are open to the public with the authors.
