Juliette Deschodt selected the exhibition Angle de Vue by Chema Madoz
A buried guitar . The universe as the target of an arrow. A cloud in a cage. Welcome to Chema Madoz’s world. The Spanish photographer specializes in item diversion. The images looks simple yet nothing is left to chance. If the works are untitled, the viewer is quickly taken into the game, looking for the double meaning of the images, and the details which will disturb the logic of the image. In his still lifes, Madoz plays with the words, shadows and shapes. Sometimes, he illustrates some concepts or commun ideas. The mariage for example, with a ring put on a rat trap. Metaphor, analogy and comparison, all lexical field comes visually. Co-produced by the association Méjan, in collaboration with the PhotoEspaña festival, the exhibition is arranged intuitively. The visitor walks among the big prints. Images are neat, clean. The result is both simple and effective. At the edge of surrealism, the result is also very poetic.
