Every year, to coincide with the Rencontres d’Arles, Christophe Laloi and his team organize the Festival Voies Off. This year, for the 19th edition, the festival is offering viewers an overview of up-and-coming photographers. With over a hundred exhibitions, the program was put together following an international call for submissions. The exhibitions have free admission and can be seen at fifty locations throughout the city of Arles and its surroundings.
Today The Eye of Photography is sharing a selection from the 2014 festival.
The Festival Voies Off also offers portfolio reviews, screenings and two awards. The first, the Prix Voies Off ,rewards a young photographer with 2500€ for the quality of his or her work. The second, the Prix Révélation SAIF, is worth 2000€. The winners will be announced on Saturday, July 12th.
In 2013, the Prix Voies Off was awarded to German photographer Boris Eldagsen for his series Poems, and the Prix Révélation SAIF was awarded to Mafalda Rakos for the series Il y a des jours sombres.
