Traditionally the HSBC Photography Foundation unveils the monographs of its two award winners for the year at Arles. The exhibitions of these monographs take place throughout the summer at the Musée André Villers de Mougin. This year the foundation has chosen CeriseCerise Doucède Doucède and her mise-en-scenes of characters surrounded by levitating objects. Zoé Valdes’ long dreamlike text accompanies this strange universe. Noémie Goudal‘s work is all finesse and illusion, images within images, well calculated reliefs and perspectives, a questioning of space and a reflection on colour. Both books are available in Arles throughout the summer before being launched in bookstores in the autumn.
