For its 43rd édition, the Rencontres d’Arles is hosting a photography auction for the first time.
Organised by the Yann Le Mouël auction house, specialist in the sale of photographs at Drouot, the auction will offer a photographic stroll through the 19th and 20th centuries, taking in both a few big names and a majority of unknowns. Maître Yann le Mouël has charged gallery owners Marion & Philippe Jacquier with the selection aware that the Jacquier’s gallery, Lumière des Roses, has made its name for its exploration of the immense and fertile world of anonymous photography.
Lovers of this art who aren’t lucky enough to make it to Arles shouldn’t despair: Drouot live, the Drouot website, will be covering the event, offering the opportunity to bid in real time for those who will look at it from afar.
