Aperture foundation is pleased to announce the four finalists for the 2016 Aperture Portfolio Prize, an international photography competition whose goal is to identify trends in contemporary photography and highlight artists whose work deserves greater recognition:
Bill Durgin
Eli Durst
Sean Thomas Foulkes
RaMell Ross
This year, Aperture’s editorial and limited-edition print staff reviewed more than five hundred portfolios. The challenge is to select one winner and three honorable mentions from this overwhelming response. One finalist will be selected as the winner and receive a $3,000 cash prize and an exhibition at Aperture Gallery in New York.
Aperture Foundation is delighted to welcome these four finalists to its roster, joining such artists as Michal Chelbin, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Alexander Gronsky, Sarah Palmer, Louie Palu, Bryan Schutmaat, Jordan Tate, Hiroshi Watanabe, and many others. The winner of the 2016 Aperture Portfolio Prize will be announced in late March, and the finalists’ portfolios and statements will be featured here, on aperture.org.
