The 2016 edition of the “Carte blanche PMU” has been awarded to the Spanish photographer, from Barcelona, Anna Malagrida. The jury met on the 20th of January to choose the seventh winner from a short list of 6 artists: Grégoire Eloy, Anna Malagrida, Olivier Menanteau, Aurélie Pétrel, Stéphanie Solinas and Cyrille Weiner.
Anna Malagrida’s proposal won the support of the jury: in her project, she imagines the places ‘of Paris” as a theatrical stage where, through gestures, the public are the actors; the reflections of the city mixed with interiors of cafés, the décor; and the words linked to the world by chance, the text. The result of this Carte Blanche will be shown in the Gallery of Photography at the Centre Pompidou from the September 28th to October 17th and will be the subject of a book to be published by Filigranes. This exhibition will be the second in this new location , following “Joueurs” by Thierry Fontaine in October 2015.
