The creation process of Alice Laloy is moving towards a research theater where puppets, materials, machines, actors and sound compositions intersect in the service of poetic writing.
Alice Laloy is looking for a language. She writes by staging.
Her approach is nourished by a dialogue between a concrete and practical logic that she maintains by “tinkering”, and a mental logic of “reverie” evolving through free associations.
Her theater is populated with images. With performers and subjects she brings together, she tries to make these visual sensations tangible according to a logic that belongs to the world she orchestrates.
In her work, everything is transformation, metamorphosis, visual and sound.
Alice Laloy, discovered puppets during her studies in scenography / costume design at the TNS school, she wondered about this other way of approaching the theater. She created “la compagnie s’appelle reviens” in January 2002 to develop her research.
Grégoire Calliès, director of the Théâtre Jeune Public in Strasbourg, accompanied her by co-producing and hosting her shows until 2008, when the company became a company in residence at the TJP for three years.
