The series by Algis Norvila was selected by John A. Bennette, Collector, Lecturer, Editor and Curator, hanging with mrbennette, during portfolios reviews organized by The New York Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP NY) on February 18th, 2015, in New York.
This series is an intersection of interests: a history of place and time, of some people -my parents- and a few of their possessions, taken out into the open, simply yet graphically presented to appeal to the eye and to the mind. The images allude to work and values, but inform only minimally as to the history of their owners: photography is not biography.
